The Heat is On! New Italian Restaurant Opening Downtown Bellefontaine

The secret is out. Logan County’s culinary options will soon be expanding to include a new Italian restaurant operated by World Famous Pizza throwing champion Michael Shepherd. Shepherd has over 17 years experience in the restaurant business and operates Michael Angelo’ Pizza with locations in Rushsylvania and Kenton. Mr. Shepherd is proud to be certified in pizza making by the Scuola Italiana Pizzaioli.

Shepherd’s newest restaurant, Fahrenheit Six Hundred by Michael Angelos was announced at a Logan County Business Meetup Tuesday evening with a crowd of more than 80 enthusiasts in attendance. The downtown restaurant will feature brick fired gourmet pizzas, pastas, caprese, salads and craft beers and wine and be open for lunch and dinner.

“I want it to be a place where people can come and enjoy a craft beer or glass of wine with a great pizza and a place that’s fun and affordable for any family. I have been lucky enough to travel around the world learning new and exciting things from pizza makers worldwide, so with this venture I decided  to step out of my comfort zone and create something new and different from my existing pizzerias.” say Shepherd.  “The name Fahrenheit Six Hundred signifies the temperature that we will be baking our pizzas, 600 degrees. We will be cooking our pizzas right on the bricks of an old world brick lined pizza oven.  I like doing things the traditional way.”

The new restaurant fills one of two available storefronts at 108 S. Main Street owned by Community Storage & Properties, Ltd. a company owned by entrepreneur Jason Duff.  Duff is in the process of making substantial improvements to the property which includes a new roof, stone façade and interior preparations for the new business.

“It’s exciting!”, says Duff.   This project is a real and tangible sign of what can happen when people work together to create jobs and local economic development.”  I am hopeful that we can use this as an example to attract new investors who may be interested in investing in Logan County.”

Mr. Shepherd plans to be busy with renovations the next few months and plan to open in September.   “Logan County has been a great place for us to do business, so naturally I am very excited to get up and running in downtown Bellefontaine. ”

This is so exciting! It takes this type of investment in downtown Bellefontaine to turn things around. I have no doubt this is another spark that is going to set the blaze for fun things to do downtown. I cannot wait until it is open.

I just know this restaurant will be a family favorite of ours the minute it opens. We love the food from the Rushsylvania Michael Angelos so I know we will love this one too.
